since it’s freezing cold, what’s everyone’s favorite ramen spot? o’ahu definitely does not lack in ramen options and I haven’t tried most but my faves are:

    1. Menya Musashi
    2. Agu
    3t Ramen Santouka, Manichi

Better than Agu? Where do you park, other than street parking?

i like menya slightly more than Agu but not by much. Agu’s spicy koterri is great. I’ve only done street parking at Menya, I suppose you could park at the mall if you don’t mind walking hahah.

    "cold" lol

If we got high 60s / low 70s everyone would be out in shirt and shorts.

Temperatures in the 30s + 30-40mph winds is no fun.
Playing flag football in 22 degrees w/ 10mph wind is also not fun.

    How's Opal Thai downtown?

What's the best Thai place in general? (take-out preferred)

Opal used to be in Haleiwa, but sold his restaurant there to move to town. Not sure how he does it as I think he still lives in Waialua. Never ate at his restaurant, but people seemed to like it.

For take out, I like Malee Thai on Keeaumoku across Walmart, or Sabb Thai across Palama Market by Don Quijote. Thai Lao in Mccully is good, too.

bruh, when it’s been 80+ all year with no wind/high humidity, low 60’s is nippy af. c’mon man you haven’t lived in Omaha all your life lol.

friend of mine raved about Opal’s Thai omakase. I’ve only eaten at opals when it was still a food truck.

My all time favorite Thai dish is the evil jungle prince curry from Siam Palace on Kapahulu. best with jasmine rice instead of sticky imo. my Bebe mama loves their pad Thai.

So you know how the purveyors at farmer's market cook up sample plates for EVERYTHING on their menu and just let it sit out there all day?

Do they just trash it at the end? wtf what a waste

True, but better safe than sorry.

I had food poisoning a couple years ago and ended up in the hospital for 3 days. I suffered for a couple days before going to the ER, and thought it would be the usual fluids, meds and release. Boy was I wrong.

I hated flying through LAX already. Flying through LAX to get home and it's a nightmare all the way. Inbound plane to Omaha from LAX is late. When I finally land at LAX, I land at the remote terminal and have to take a shuttle bus to the main terminal. Get to the main terminal, find out the flight to HNL is delayed to 10pm (from 8pm), meaning I land at HNL at 2AM.

Ended up buying a lounge pass to American Airlines. Worth the $59 for almost 5 hours here at the worst airport in the world.

i was in lax earlier this year. spent about an hour waiting for our flight. wasn't that bad. food choices are way better than hawaii's airports. it was really too crowded though.

    Dad picked me up

nearly 5 hour layover so I went ahead and bought the Admiral's Club one day pass. Taking a shower before my flight was awesome. Getting a mild hangover 2 hours into my 6 hour flight was not fun though.

Any local banks where I can create an account online? I need to make an account with a local bank to prove residency for when my DL expires. I hate doing stuff in person and I don't have cash on me anyways for the opening deposit.

Also just had Hokkaido Ramen Santouka. Toroniku Shio Ramen was very good. Too bad it's cash only though.
