I don't know about you guys, but I find such a practice to be... well, excessive. This http://www.forumshawaii.net/vbb/showthread.php?p=5992707#post5992707 brought it to my attention, and I am surprised that no one has given a few of the people a clip to the ears.
I believe that if someone has to kill an animal, it should be as quick and as painless as possible. Living on a farm and hunting for a living, I always make sure of this. If we can extend it to pigs and cows, then surely to mice. A lot easier to dispatch anyway - but I do not believe in this torture business. I think it is wrong. Mice might be vermin but they can feel pain, so if I am to kill them, I make sure I don't do it by torturing them.
I want to see if anyone really cares, because I found some of the comments in that thread very repulsive and offensive.
there was one around my old work place and i set up a trap and it caught it and it died(the one that snaps) i was sad when i saw it i shoulda just left it running around or caught it a different way and let it go somewhere else..
btw: it was a small one

Of course, when I question such people doing such sadistic things to animals, I get the classical "cry me a river" response.
I believe it is appropriate and rational to question someone's actions if they find enjoyment in burning small animals alive. The act itself is horrid, but the mindset is even worse.
I may not like it, but you aren't exactly going to get anywhere with a petition for rats and mice. so you can take your hippie *** back to wherever you came from, India maybe, and stay there petting rats and mice and letting them demolish your house.
Oh and btw you should have a talk with the cats and snakes about being too cruel to rats and mice too. I hear they do some pretty sick stuff man.
